May 30 ‘Golden Era’ Register-Guard news reunion is POSTPONED
Former R-G news employees:
We regret to inform you that, because of concerns about the likely continued spread of the corona virus (COVID-19) in Lane County and elsewhere, we are postponing — not cancelling — our planned May 30, 2020 “Golden Era” celebration to a future date to be determined. You will be advised, by email, of a new date for the event as soon as we know when it will be held, which could be possibly next fall or maybe next spring. We hope you’ll be able to join us then.
We’ve been encouraged by the response we’ve received to our invitations. Nearly 70 people had RSVP’d before we had to postpone the event. We’ve been waiting to hear from another 30 people who’ve not yet responded to their invites, and there’s now a possibility that some of another 30 or so people who have sent “regrets” might now be able to attend our rescheduled event.
We greatly appreciate the support that has been shown for holding this unique event. We’re sorry Nature has intervened to force us to postpone it.
We’ll stay in touch. In the meantime, we encourage those of you who have photos of yourself and/or of you with other former R-G employees that you’d like to submit for the “Register-Guard Golden Era” website, please email those images to [email protected].
